Our Ab Coaster Review showed that this is a serious, gym-quality abdominal exercise machine that effectively targets your core and really can give you six pack abs.
“Ab Coaster: The Fast Track to Great Abs™”
Right off the bat in our Ab Coaster Review, we were impressed by the exceptional build quality of this machine. This is truly a gym-quality machine. Constructed with heavy duty steel, the Ab Coaster is designed to support up to 300 lbs. The knee pad and arm pads are top of the line and comfortable. This ab machine is built for use and built to last.
Along with the digital counter, the Ab Coaster comes with a manual, meal plan and workout DVD. It’s designed to accommodate people from 4’10” to 6’10” tall without needing any adjustments. The molded foam padded adjustable seat can be adjusted to multiple angles in its track to target your obliques (love handles!). Weight plate posts also allow up to 20 lbs. of weight to be added so you can take your workouts to the next level (the weights don’t come with the machine, however, so you will have to get them separately).
Now that the technical info is out of the way, let’s see if this Ab Coaster review awards it the best ab machine title. First, does it work? In a word, yes. The Ab Coaster targets your core and delivers an excellent workout. This is a superior choice for getting six-pack abs and burning off those love handles. To top that all off, it’s actually fun to use.

The Ab Coaster works your abdominals in a completely opposite way than your typical ab crunch machine. Instead of working your abdominal muscles from top to bottom, the Ab Coaster works from the bottom up, helping you blast the fat from those tough-to-reach lower abs and build muscle. The Ab coaster can really be the only abdominal exercise routine you need.
The carriage for your knees is surprisingly quite comfortable. To use the Ab Coaster, all you have to do is pull your knees up. As you lift, the knee carriage glides along the biometrically designed curved track, engaging your lower abs first, then the middle and upper region, giving you a complete abdominal workout. The device also promotes core stabilization by isolating the abdominal region and virtually eliminating any hip flexor involvement.
The manufacturer’s description puts it best: “The Ab Coaster keeps you in perfect form and makes it easy for anyone, regardless of fitness level, to exercise their entire abdominal regions correctly and effectively every time without straining their necks or lower backs.”
So why does our Ab Coaster Review put it in second place if it delivers such outstanding results? Well, as much as we love this machine, it’s larger and costs more than the best ab machine on our list. The Ab Coaster Pro also only works your core whereas the other equipment in the top three have multiple uses.
This is the top-of-the-line Ab Coaster (Ab Coaster 750 Deluxe Stainless Steel Pro Series) – 2 steps above the one sold on TV. It has better padding and rollers as well as upgraded 1.5” stainless steel rails. With this version you also get molded arm pads for added comfort and a free motion seat.
If you are looking for a truly ab-shredding workout that won’t strain your back and neck – and you have the budget and space for the Ab Coaster, it (and the six pack abs you’ll get using it) is worth every penny!

I love using the Ab Coaster. The next day I could feel that my abs were worked and are definitely getting stronger! And abs are probably my weakest muscles!

The guy who said it shouldn’t be used by anyone with even a mild back injury is an idiot. I am a 62 year-old retired Marine who hasn’t been able to work my core muscles in years due to a back injury from a helicopter crash. I bought the Ab Coaster specifically because I have a low back injury that keeps me from doing crunches, sit-ups, scissor kicks, leg lifts or just about any other ab exercise to strengthen my core. I got tired of looking at my profile in the mirror and bought the CS1000 model Ab Coaster. With the Ab Coaster I am able to exercise my abs with absolutely no pain or discomfort to my back, however it is absolutely brutal on the abs. After 3 sets of 20 my abs hurt for two days! It is the most intense ab workout I have ever experienced, and it has only been two weeks but I am already seeing results! You can do the exercises as slowly or as quickly as you want, with no stress or strain on your back at all, so I am wondering is this yo-yo who claims it will hurt your back ever even tried working out on one. I love it! I got the CS1000 model because it is sturdier, and I intend to give it lots of use. I can’t imagine why anyone would not love this machine. Do your abs a favor and buy an Ab Coaster today! Not a bad product. Easy to assemble and use. Purhased due to back issues and claims that it is easy on the back. So far, have minor back pain after use but nothing significant. Probably need to give it some more time. Not sorry that I made the purchase.

I absolutely love this product. I have purchased alot of other types of exercise equipment, but none have given me the results that I have been looking for, until now. My abs are already tightening up and my jeans are getting looser. With continued exercise, using this machine, I am sure that this product will give me the results that my am looking for. It was well worth the money. I would buy this product again. Love it!!!

This product is not bad at all. I’ve had it for about 3 weeks now. And I must admit, I do see results around my waist. To really work though, you have to really dedicate time, and effort along with a healthy diet. Cutting back on sweets, and sugar drinks will show results faster.

This exerciser is the best answer yet for TARGETING your abominal area. With very little effort you can perform the exercises without using your legs, arms or momentum. The seat changes quickly to facilitate working the obliques and being able to add up to 20 lbs of weights lets you gear the number of repetitions to your personal preference.
Assembly took less than 30 minutes.

Great Product. Very effective for conditioning your abs. Worth all the money. However product is noisy during use.

It is not as easy to use as the commercial shows. It is a real workout on the Abs. I have just started a workout routine and I can only do 10 reps at a time. It is difficult, but you can definately feel it working. I have 4 months to get ready for bathing suit weather and I know it is going to work.

My boyfriend bought me this machine less than a month ago for my bday. I love this machine so much, i can see and feel the result. I can see that my stomach is flatter (I am not overweight, i just have a stomach area problem). In fact, i get compliments on my look. other ladies in my house wanted to try it too. i also feel soared after each work out (meaning it works). please watch the instruction video before use because it seemed to be hard to use at first. you have to use your abs to move up and down, not your upper body. I recommend this machine to all the ladies, especially.

Very good product! well built and easy to put together.
I’m a personal trainer and so far this machine beats them all! Easy to use, easy on joints and back and u feel it! Start off slow though, maybe 5-10 and go up from there. Starting off slow will also let u know if ur form is right or wrong. If your back hurts the next day, your form is wrong. Take it slow and enjoy!!

It’s sturdy and fun to use.
I needed a little help to put together
but it was worth it!

I bought the Ab Coaster hoping to get my tummy back into shape after having a baby. My tailbone was injured during delivery so I can’t do regular sit ups or crunches. I saw it on an infomercial and instantly wanted it because it was exactly what I needed to work out my stomach without having to sit on my tailbone to do it, my husband bought it for me for Christmas and I love it.
You put your knees on the pad and hold onto the handles with your elbows resting on a padded arm rest, and you use your stomach muscles to lift your legs. You control how fast you go and there is a little screen on the front that tells you how many reps you have done. It took me a little while to get the hang of doing them without using my arm muscles to pull me up since I have very weak stomach muscles, and I’m sure I looked hilarious doing it, but after I figured it out it was very simple to do. You can also turn the knee pad sideways in either direction so that you can work out your side muscles. After the first day using it I could definitely feel it in my sore stomach the next day. You can also add weights to bars on the bottom of the seat for more resistance but I am nowhere NEAR that point.
Mine arrived without any broken pieces (like it should) and my husband set it up easily. It’s a good alternative to traditional crunches if you can’t lie on your back.
I would recommend it, but you have to have a designated spot for it because it does not fold up to stow away.

This is an exceptionally high quality machine. It is solid as a rock and operates as smooth as butter. It is also very easy to assemble. It is quiet and compact. You do not need to buy a separate floor mat as one is provided.

The ab coaster should NOT be used by anyone with low-back issues, even mild, occasional strains. Why? It’s a ballistic exercise. There’s one in my gym. People average doing a repetition every 1 second. Ditto for the TV infomercials. That’s waaaaay too fast and is what puts excessive strain on the discs of the lower spine. I tried it a few times, and it hurt my lower back. If you don’t have back problems, you probably will after using this thing, because those fast reps are really straining your discs. People are better off using an exercise or device that allows slow reps with a pause in the fully-contracted position. Save your money and do proper crunches. And forget about the “burning belly fat” argument. So-called “spot-reduction” is a well-known myth, but there are new and uninformed people entering the market every day looking for solutions. They fall for the same hype.

This is a sturdy machine that really isolates your ab muscles. I would recommend watching some youtube videos on proper form because if you aren’t doing them correctly, you are cheating yourself out of a great workout. I can’t stay on this thing longer than a few minutes! A great way to get through your ab workout if you dread the crunches, planks, and ab machines at a gym.

Working out itsn’t easy for me, as a single mom fulltime student and a part time employee, time is a gift. I also have a bad back, it really hurts to do sit ups and what not, but this NOW THIS, is AMAZING. it puts minimal pressure on your back and the machine ounts the reps for you and the instructions are idiot proof. and just wow wow wo I love this product. it was totally worth the moeny i spent. My whole family uses it, even the younger kids. would be a great addition to anyones home gym.

Have been using it for about 3 months and i see major results on my obliques and abs. Like anything else, if your form and breathing is not correct and accurate while using this equipment, then you may not see results or your results will take very long to show.
I own the pro series model which is a bit stronger then the home series model and weighs about 6lbs more. I am around 200lbs and this equipment is used daily by myself and my workout partner and can honestly say it is durable. After major use, it does not sound as quiet as when it was purchased, but performs as well as when i purchased it.
Overhaul its a good piece of equipment and certainly worth the money in my opinion.

Bought this because my daughter bought one in Jan. lost 55lbs lots of inches but she didn’t measure to start. I have used it for two weeks and have lost 5in over all. Easy to use. Really think you need pick-up truck to get as package is rather large and heavy.
LovingMommyTo2 on March 1, 2010
Yes, you’re right…it’s expensive. That being said, it also WORKS!!!! I am loving my results that I’m getting from this machine! I DO recommend watching the instructional video clips on youtube, as they seem better than the one I received with the machine. I use it for just a few minutes about every other day and am getting results! They say you’re supposed to “rest” your muscles every other day, but I think I’m going to try using it more often. I don’t do a HUGE workout on it, just a few minutes…I also do Kettlenetics for overall fitness, but this machine BLASTS all the other kinds of ab workouts, I think! I LOVE IT!

Let me give you a little background. In March 2008 I was weighing about 280 lbs, damaged my lateral meniscus in my right knee from being too heavy, and had to have knee surgery at age 30. Furthermore, I had MRIs done on my back and it was determined that I had damaged/compressed lower discs, an unnatural straightened back (backs are supposed to be curved) and overstressed back muscles trying to compensate for the 54 inch waist. I was in physical therapy for months for my back. After all these health problems at a young age I decided to make a life change to get fit and lose weight and this machine helped me get to that point. My weight loss process has been slow and I started to see the commercials for these machines in the Fall of 2008. I always thought the price was too high, but at this point I was weighing about 243 lbs and still needed to strengthen my weakest part of my body, my stomach muscles which pretty much were never used for anything in my life other than for holding fat. At first I tried to get my YMCA to get the $1500 gym version of the machine, but no luck. So I took the plunge and for Christmas 2008 I decided to buy this since there was no way I could even do one sit-up or crunch because of my lower back.
Well the day I got the Abcoaster Pro was the day I took my fitness routine to the next level. The product is sturdy, durable, and well built. It was easy for an unfit guy like me to do these ab exercises compared to the ones that stress your back and neck. At first I was lucky if I could do even 5 minutes on this machine. Within weeks I noticed a substantial difference in my abdomen as my stomach started to take form. The inches started to come off, slowly mind you, but it was working. I didn’t think one of these infomercial products could work, but it did work. Eventually I got stronger and thus I took the plunge and started both spinning/cycling classes and cardio-kickboxing. Then came strength training with weights to boot-camp and now running.
This machine was the starter I needed. I pretty much was just riding the stationary bike, some rowing, some swimming and watching my diet (Weight Watchers) before I bought this. Believe me, for men (and women), I think most of us are self-conscious about our middle region. No matter how much shape we’re in, if we have a little belly we feel out of shape, and people do notice the belly that’s the society we live in.
Today I’m down to about 183 lbs, 6% body fat, and a healthy BMI. I’m a gym rat and a workout fiend. I think this machine is a good machine if you’ve ever had trouble doing any type of ab exercises. While I’m doing all kinds of different ab exercises today, I still use this machine routinely twice a week on the cardio-kickboxing class days.
So why did I give it four stars and not five stars?
1. Still a little pricey, but if you really use it, it’s worth it.
2. The ab rep counter is cheap and is damaged because it is located right where your sweat will drop on it.
3. The ball-bearings/wheels that the coaster rests on and moves with is starting to wear out from use and I’m not sure how much life this thing will have left and it’s not even a year old.
The bottom-line is this, if you need ab help and you have weak abs, then this machine is for you. It won’t stress your back or neck and can actually be fun if you set it up in front of the TV with your favorite show on.
